Mallory Martino, sponsored by State Bank, was crowned Miss Magnolia 2005 and the third annual Miss Magnolia Scholarship Pageant. Thirty-five girls competed for the prize that brings with it a $1500 college scholarship and other prizes from area businesses.
Brittany Ball was selected first runner up, earning a $500 scholarship, and Mickelle Upchurch took away a $300 scholarship as second runner up. For the first time the contestants elected a girl to carry the title of Miss Congeniality, and Wendy Falko won that award.
Directed by Natalie Chumley, Alamo Title, the committee produced an outstanding event. Commissioner Craig Doyal and candidate for Justice of the Peace Nita McNulty shared emcee duties with a former Magnolia High School graduate, Heather Holderreith Scardino providing outstanding entertainment.
